Good location for shopping, dining out etc.
False advertising... There is no bar/restaurant, or private beach at 58 corso Umberto as we expected. We were told we have to catch a shuttle bus 5euro, to their sister hotel about 15 mins away which is on the beach! Service not very friendly and no help with bags. Very tiny bathroom and very tired decor.
We found this hotel perfectly situated in amongst the main shopping area but a quiet oasis once inside. We had a room at the back with a sea view and overlooking the houses surrounding it - very cute! The room itself was small but had everything we needed. It was very comfortable and we would definitely stay there again.
The only small thing I would complain about would be the size of the shower - tiny! There was hardly room to turn around and the shower curtain sticks to you as you shower! Just badly designed really. But it still wouldn't deter me from staying again.
THe location is excellent although no direct views from our room. Bedroom was comfortable. Breakfast was fine.
Bathroom a little small and the rooms are a bit tired.
The location of the hotel was excellent - right in the middle of the town. Despite this, it was an oasis of calm. The minibus service to the beach was excellent value as it included the sunbeds, towels, umbrella and access to all the required facilities.
This is a clean and well-run hotel where the staff were tremendously helpful and cheerful. Good breakfast with wonderful views of the Mt Etna and the sea.
Rather small-ish room
The location is very central and close enough to bus station and cable car to local beaches. We loved visiting the many catholic churches, museums, amphitheatre and numerous restaurants. The taxi service to a private beach was excellent value also.
The staff was very nice and helpful and they all speak good English. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Corso Umberto, the main street in Taormina. The hotel offered transport to the beach for a very good price, which also included the entrance at a very classy beach. The breakfast was rich and everything was fresh. Spectacular view from the terrace of the hotel! We really enjoyed our stay at Isabella Hotel!
Hotel Isabella is situated in a very central position, I.E. Corso Umberto, the principal road of Taormina. It is also close to the taxi stand and to the bus terminus at Via Pirandello, just an 8 mins walk. The receptionists are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the room service was excellent. The breakfast was abundant, varied and the waiter was so helpful.
The bathroom is extremely small and narrow. One has to walk sideways to reach the shower!
Location mainly. Sweet hotel overall.
Male reception staff not particularly friendly and welcoming. Breakfast a little boring. Coffee awful - been left to sit for too long. Tea and coffee facilities would be a good idea.
Brilliant location, within walking distance of local sights, shops, restaurants. Excellent views of the coastline.
The staff, room, location, cleaness, good breakfast
The non-availibility of a hoghchair for our child
A very lovely hotel beautifully presented with first class service and attention from the staff. The decor is very charming and elegant with lovely fabrics, paint colours, painted murals, flower arrangements, layout of the salon areas and in the rooms all making a very pleasing atmosphere. And very clean. we had two adjoining rooms and good beds, cotton sheets and small balconies looking over roofs below up to the mountain and the greek amphitheatre and the sea. Nice shower room with bidet. Very quiet town so we slept well, breakfast was very adequate but the town is full of cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops - easy to get around on foot thro all the streets and to see the sites and the wonderful Trevlyan garden.. Not so good if you want to go to the beach but I hope to return and see more of the town and country and will stay there again. Very friendly people there - and I recommend the Italian trains tho the journey from the station to the town needs a bus or taxi going up but you can walk down the mule track/steps from the town. Staff were very helpful with train/bus timetables and spoke excellent english
cramped bathroom not enough choice for breakfast poor air-con
Good price, proximity to things, good breakfast
Very small room, not very friendly personnel
Beds a disaster, mattresses very old b fast limited not always varied Hotel rooms corridors and restaurant need to be refurbished
